We are SWET
SWET is a student-led organization that designs and builds alternative energy vehicles requiring several different categories of electrical, mechanical, structural, and aerospace engineering and the application of the math and science skills we learn in the classroom to the real world. We compete in several competitions within the United States. We also learn and apply basic skills of working with different tools and machinery.
The Southwest Engineering Team started in the Fall of 2011 with a group of six dedicated students who were the pioneers of the club. The students first Electrathon competition vehicle was a kit car ordered from Blue Sky Design.
SWET's mission is to help students receive opportunities they would have thought to be unattainable. Our goal is to encourage and aid other high schools, colleges, and S.T.E.M programs in the State of Texas to build their own alternative fuel vehicles and compete alongside SWET.
